iPhone OS 3.1. Und alle so: ach nee.

Als ich vor zwei Tagen mein Baby an iTunes angeschlossen hab, habe ich mich erstmal sehr über ein neues Update gefreut. Und Gott sei Dank doch erstmal gegoogelt, was da denn jetzt passiert. Mein iPhone 2G läuft mit OS 3.0 und ähem, o2. Also für alle, die ihr iPhone aus welchen Gründen auch immer nicht im “Originalzustand” belassen haben, hier eine kurze Warnung: Das Dev-Team ist noch nicht (ganz, je nach dem welches/n iPhone/iPod ihr habt) so weit, und ihr könntet euch ernsthaft was zerschießen, wenn ihr jetzt sofort nach dem Update greift. Also: Finger ruhig halten!

Aufgrund des Baseband-Updates funktioniert der “ultrasn0w“-Software-Unlock nicht mehr! Diejenigen, die ein vom Provider gesperrtes iPhone besitzen und auch weiterhin “ultrasn0w” benötigen, sollten daher erst auf ein “ultrasn0w“-Update vom iPhone Dev Team warten! (via)

Because of changes with Apple’s update techniques (that complicate the 3GS upgrade process) this will be a multipart release. This release starts with PwnageTool 3.1 for Mac OS X – this application supports the iPhone 1st Generation (2G), the iPhone 3G and the iPod touch 1G. NB: THIS DOES NOT SUPPORT THE 3GS OR 2G/3G IPOD TOUCH. redsn0w for Mac OS X and Windows will follow sometime in the near future, please don’t bug us about it – we’ll release when we have something ready.
